Did Someone Call My Name?

A pair of crickets recently took up residency behind our kitchen refrigerator and quickly began to serenade us every time the sun went down.
One eventually left, sauntering out the door leading to the garage. I watched as he left, perhaps no longer enthralled with the high-pitched song emanating from the other. I can relate.
Or, maybe he heard me mention that there was a fair-sized lizard or two roaming the house as well.
The other fellow didn’t take the hint and continues to chirp away.
I am currently Goggling the life span of crickets (8-10 weeks; Ye Gads!) - when I am not looking for a lizard or two to relocate behind the refrigerator.
